Squaw Valley - A Premier Ski Resort
Squaw Valley is located in California. It is one of the premiere ski resorts in the country. Squaw Valley started as a dream and has become a place where dreams come true.
Squaw Valley was founded by a man named Alexander Cushing in 1946. He was taken back by the areas beauty and the remoteness of it. Having been from New York and being a recent war veteran he was in search of something peaceful and Squaw Valley fit the bill.
In 1949 he created the Squaw Valley Development Company and opened the first ski chairlift there. He also started building the Squaw Valley Lodge where skiers could rest after a long day hitting the trails.
Squaw Valley has since developed into a world class resort. It has many loyal patrons and is one of the places to be during skiing season.
Squaw Valley also has another claim to fame - the VIII Olympic Winter Games. The winter games provided a lot of interest in Squaw Valley.
These Olympics were very important to the development of Squaw Valley. In fact, they were the first televised games held in the US, which showed off the beauty and magnificence of Squaw Valley. They were why the Olympic Village Inn was built.
The Olympics brought attention to Squaw Valley and really helped jump start its rise to the top of the leading ski resorts. It is a place where people know they can get a great experience every time they visit.
Even after the Olympics Squaw Valley has lived up to expectations. The attractions are something that keep the people coming back year after year to this rich land. Squaw Valley may be constantly changing to meet the needs of its patrons, but one thing remains constant - the beauty and elegance that is the heart of Squaw valley.

Skiing Holidays - Oh, What Fun!
Let's be off to a skiing holiday! Going to a place filled with powdery white snow set on a breathtaking backdrop of imposing mountains and clear blue skies - this holds plenty of promise. Skiing has its own unique attraction. Once you try it, you are sure to get hooked! As were millions ahead of you who flock to the ski resorts the first chance they get to go wooshing down the slopes.
What we recommend for you to do is to get a ski holiday package to make the most of your vacation. Not only does this save you the hassle of booking your hotel, transport and equipment separately, this also ensures that you stay well within your budget. The best thing about this is that you don't have to think of anything but how you can traverse the next difficulty level and see your skiing skills pushed to its limits. When choosing a package, look at what it offers. Aside from accommodations and transportation, great packages include meals, ski instructions, and discounted lift tickets.
Whether you're new at this or are somewhat of an expert, a ski holiday is something you'll enjoy. And it's not just about skiing and snowboards, either. The pleasures that can be had in a ski holiday can range from the simple (a hot cup of cocoa before a crackling fire) to the luxurious (an extravagant dinner prepared for you by a world-renowned chef or a highly relaxing soak on that bubble-filled Jacuzzi, even as you sip on your glass of champagne).
You can look into ski vacations in famous resorts such as Whistler (in Canada), Aspen (in Colorado, USA), Zermatt or Gstaad (in Switzerland and so much more).
There are also activities for the family to enjoy, the couple who is on the lookout for some romance, or a group of friends wanting to enjoy each other's company. Yes, you can find the package that is right for you.

Vail Vacation Rentals
If you want to say you've been to the best ski resort in the U.S., make plans for a trip to Vail. Colorado. Often named the number one ski destination, Vail is not to be missed by the avid or beginning skier looking for a full plate of activities, on or off -season. Vail is about 100 miles west of Denver, and has its own distinct areas in which to choose a ski vacation condo, home or villa. Vail Village and Lionshead are older and more central. You'll find plenty of Lionshead rental properties, while both areas have an abundance of nightlife. There are also West Vail Village and East Vail village, only separated by a couple of miles, and carry a more quiet residential feel.
No matter which area you choose to stay, a Vail rental home, villa or condo will provide a perfect staging point for all of your vacation activities. Rental properties provide more space and privacy than your standard hotel room. Your vacation respite becomes more of a home away from home, and makes relaxing that much easier. All Vail vacation rentals will come fully furnished, with kitchens and linen service. Most will provide easy access or transportation to your ski destinations. And that's what you're here for, right? Add some luxury to your stay and add some amenities, like a fireplace, hot tub, gourmet kitchen, wireless internet and a stunning mountain view. You're in Vail, Colorado, the Tiffany's of Ski destinations, so make it memorable.
There are nearly 5300 acres of skiing to be covered in Vail. The three most distinct areas are the Front Side, the Back Bowls and the Blue Sky Basin. Between these three areas you'll enjoy 193 trails and 30 lifts. The average snowfall is around 350 inches per year, which is a lot of snow. It's enough to enjoy about any winter sport you care to try. Plus, Vail is home to many tournaments, where you can watch the pros do it right. Festivals and Arts events make Vail an entertaining place year round. The American Ski Classic, the Honda Session snowboard tournament and the Charles Schwab Birds of Prey tournament are all here in Vail. And for a really grand time, make plans to be there during what is billed as "the biggest blowout in the mountains" during "CarniVail", Vail's own version of Mardi Gras. You fill in the blanks.
Spring brings the Vail Film festival and the Spring Back to Vail music and ski festival to close out the season. Then, it's time for mountain biking, fishing, camping and hiking, whitewater rafting, kayaking and horseback riding. You'll find that even in the warm months, there are plenty of Vail vacation rental homes, chalets, condos or apartments in Vail fro which to choose. Check out this site to find some really great places offered by only reputable rental property companies you can trust. Then pack up the gear, and head to the mountain paradise of Vail, Colorado. You won't regret it, even if you don't know how to ski.
